The International Course

1.As a capital of Zhejiang Province,Hangzhou is a tourist city well known at home and abroad.It lies in the east coast of China and close to Shanghai.

2.Zhejiang Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital,Hangzhou Red Cross Hospital.Intergrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Traditional Chinese Medicine University was built in 1928,it is a general hospital with 600 beds and 1000 staff,it has been carrying out the medical,teaching and research work.

3.The International Course of Acupucture and TCM has been established sinace 1983.The hospital has a close relation with many countries.The colleges from United States,Germany,Isereal,Australia and Japan have been sending medical students to the hospital to take the Intership program every year.Meanwhile,the hospital also has been receiving doctors,acupucturists and scholars for further study program.

4.The course normally opens in spring and autumn time.The duration of the course depends on a applicants’request,from two weeks to six months.The hospital equips the course with highly qualified teachers and translators.The course emphasizes the clinical practice and imparts the nessary theory as auxilary contents.The clinical practice is arranged in both out-patient and in-patient departments.Special lectures are arranged in the course.

5.The participants have 5working days and 2 days off a week.

6.A bicycle will be made available to each participant.

7.Upon satisfactory completion of the exams,each paticipant will be issued a certificate of the course.

8.The application should be made three months inadvance.

International Acupuncture Class Teaching Plan

A .   Aim and Requirement

 

Through practice, students should strengthen the ability of integrating the theory and clinical application together, begin to master clinical skills of acupuncture and new acupuncture therapy mostly in use, be able to dispose and diagnose common diseases which can be treated by acupuncture.

B .   Time and Content of Practice

 

The total study period is 4 weeks (for example) around acupuncture department. Students learn how to diagnose clinical common diseases, decide principles and recipes, locate points and practice manipulation, including moxibustion therapy, electrical acupuncture, scalp acupuncture, cupping, auricular therapy, etc.

 

C.      Practice Method

 

The first week, students follow with guiding teacher in the out- patient room. Teachers will explain cases and demonstrate acupuncture technique combine with patients. Gradually, the teacher will instruct students to manipulate after making proper diagnose and differentiation.

The second week, we mainly develop students’ independent working ability under teacher’s instruction. From easy to difficult, gradually, teachers will select some patients, for students to differentiate and choose points by themselves. Later, students will manipulate on patients under teachers’ revising and agreement.

Diseases for practice: Wind stroke, Asthma, Headache, Dizziness, Vertigo, Palpitation, Insomnia, Stomach, Diarrhea, Urine retention, Emission, Impotence, Neuralgia, Backache, Lumber pain, Bi-syndrome, Atrophy syndrome, Facial Paralysis, Manic-depressive Psychosis, Epilepsy, Sciatic, Trigeminal Neuralgia, Irregular Menses, Dysmenorrhea, Morbid Leukorrhea, Sprain, Tinnitus, Deaf, Myopia, Toothache, Pharyngitis, etc.

The  Note to  Guests

 

1.   The dormitory is intended mainly to the foreign students arranged by the Red Cross Hospital.

2.   Guests who went to lodge here should show their identifications and register at the service room.

3.   The gate of the domitory opens from 6:00 to 23:00. You could ring the bell on the wall if you are late and the door is locked.

4.   The time for three meals:

      Breakfast       7:00

      Lunch          11:30    

      Dinner         17:30

5.   In the lounge room, we provide some TCM books for you to read freely. Many acupunture equipments are on show. All the facilics. Such as washing manchine, icebox, microstove, can be used freely.

6.   Your room is cleaned every day and the bed is cleaned everyweek.

7.   There is an electric-heat shower in your bathroom. Please turn it on about fifteen minutes before you use it . Don’t forget to turn it off after you finish shower.

8.     The telephone service is at the service room. The number of the domitory is 0086-571-85284089.

9.   Residents are expected to abide by the Chinese law, respect the Chinese custom, take care of public prorerty, respect all damage and confer with the staffs to administraters before making any changes in your living quarlers.
